I may have mentioned our adventures in kitten trapping over the past couple of years (short version: hard but rewarding, remote cameras for the win).

Here are two organizations that were great as we tried to keep the neighborhood from being overrun by adorable, yet vulnerable, kittens:

The good people in these groups have done an amazing job even under the stresses of the pandemic, which has increased demand for pets but also restricted a lot of shelters and the vet services they need.

Fortunately, we were able to help our local cat rescue groups get a lot of kittens off the street before winter. Just as an example, take a look at two of the kittens we saved: Comet and Dasher. So cute!

If you’re in the market for an adorable fur friend, check out the adoption pages at these or your local rescue groups. We’re not ready for a new cat just yet but when we are we’ll go through a group like this.

What kind of day is it today? Cool, a bit busy, with rain and a chance of taxes. The kind of day where it’s nice to find warmth: a hot beverage, a fleece vest, or kittens, even if they are virtual:

Kittens not your thing? (Honestly?) Explore.org has dozens of other live cams for you, like NestFlix or ZenCams

Or puppies. Because who doesn’t like puppies? (Cue obligatorily adorable puppy shot!)

Hey, folks, it’s a crappy day here, rain and wind and grey skies. What’s that? It’s crappy inside too? It’s hard to get your work done and you can’t seem to focus? That’s ok, it’s just…

A Crappy Day.

Don’t fret if you can’t stand the thought of another to-do list, if every single thing you should be doing is annoying the crap out of you. Because it’s (say it with me) a crappy day!

So, what to do? I say go with it! Revel in the mediocrity of the day. Remember that today is Monday and it is a scientifically proven fact that 96% of all Mondays have a better-than-average likelihood of being crappy.* And then break out the big guns.

That’s right, take yourself over to KittenTown and remember, tomorrow will probably be better:)

* Not really, but tell me it doesn’t feel true.
