If One Thing

What if one story one vase one photograph one ring or one whatever it is you do when you do art, were guaranteed to make it into the historical record? Sadly, you do not know which one thing that will be.

Sounds great, how motivating, I shall be sure to do my best work all the time, every time.

Thanks a lot, now I’m focused on the fact that one of the things I produce will be viewed and critiqued by generations to come. I am paralyzed by the need for perfection in all things.

Interesting idea, but I'm too busy living to worry about what future people think!
